Instructions for Activity Monitoring If you have ordered an Actigraphy assessment, you will soon be receiving an activity monitor programmed for your child. Please remember: The unit has to be worn at all times, including sleep, and removed only when showering, bathing or swimming, as it is not water-proof, and can be damaged by contact with water. The unit has to be worn from sunday evening (7pm) till saturday morning, when it has to be shipped back for analysis of the data. Return the unit promptly in the box it was shipped to you as soon as the monitoring period is completed. Any delay may result in loss of data. You should mark the time when the monitor is removed and then put back on, or time traveling on car/bus/train for more than 10 minutes. You must also press the button on the unit when getting the subject into bed for sleep. • The belt with a pouch containing the monitor has to be worn around the waist at all times, including bedtime and sports. Some wrist-monitors are currently being tested, and they will need to be worn on the nn-dominant wrist. • The only time when you are to remove the monitor is when in the water (swimming, showers/baths, splashing water, etc.). • Bedtime and rising time should be always marked on the enclosed sheet. • Use of transportation for more than 2-3 minutes should be marked (time on/off) to avoid false readings. Upon completion of 7 days of monitoring, reflective of one week of your child’s life, promptly return the monitor to us in the same box that was used for the delivery. Please mail to: DR. M. TEICHER, 115 MILL STREET, BELMONT MA 02478 Remember to include your scoring sheet and contact information. Thank you for your cooperation,
Gianni L. Faedda, M.D.
