Dr. Nancy Austin

Nancy B. Austin, Psy.D, has been a child psychologist in Westchester and Manhattan since 1988. After 6 years at the Center for Preventive Psychiatry and two years as Special Education psychologist for the Hommocks Middle School in Mamaroneck, she completed the program in psychoanalysis at the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She is currently in full-time private practice in Mamaroneck and NYC with a specialty in working with children and adolescents diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her teaching and supervisory positions currently include the Child and Adolescent Program of the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and The Center for Preventive Psychiatry in White Plains. Dr. Austin’s clinical work and research into the IQ pattern of bipolar children has been cited in several books on the subject. In addition, she is moderator for the clinicians’ listserv for the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation.
